Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need to visit the dentist twice every year?
The short answer is yes, you do. Why? Your mouth is full of bacteria, some of which are benign, but others can be harmful. These bacteria can quickly multiply and cause problems, such as tooth decay or gum disease. By having a checkup and cleaning appointment with us every six months, you can prevent these issues and keep your smile healthy and beautiful now and in the future.

What is the process for getting a dental crown or bridge?
We try to make treatment with us as smooth and easy as possible for you. When you and Dr. Nick Smith have determined that you need one of these restorations, he will prepare either one tooth for a crown or the two teeth that surround the missing one for a bridge. Then we’ll take digital scans of your mouth and send this information to a dental lab. We’ll then place a temporary crown or bridge while the permanent one is being crafted. Finally, you’ll come back into our office to have your restoration bonded in place for a fully restored, beautiful smile.
What do you do to make sure I’m comfortable during my appointment?
While you’re in our care, we want your experience to be a positive one. Dr. Nick Smith and the rest of our team take time to give you personalized attention and meet your needs. For those who suffer from anxiety, we offer nitrous oxide sedation to take the edge off your fears. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Nick Smith knows how to perform procedures with a gentle hand. We also use advanced technology that significantly reduces discomfort for diagnosis and treatment.
